About The Center
The Living Tao Center in Albuquerque, NM, is a physical location in the land of
enchantment for the research and study of being (ontology). Through the practices
of T’ai Chi Chuan, Dao Yin Ch’i Gung, Taoist meditation, and Oriental Medicine,
the authentic nature of being may thus be discovered.
It is the premise of the Living Tao Center, ‘The Tao’ Lao Tzu spoke of in the Tao
teachings, is found and experienced from within. The foundation principles of the
Living Tao Center is the way and the life of being is realized and expressed in
the truth of one’s heart, that the reality in which one ‘lives’ is created in that
same heart. Its useful intention is best found in service to one’s community and
humanity as a whole. This purpose in direction is always first acknowledged and
followed from within.
T’ai Chi Ch’uan
T’ai Chi Ch’uan is the most popular martial art in the world today. Practiced mainly
as a superior health art and moving meditation, emphasizes the qualities of softness
and adherence, leading through following, and seizing the moment through wuwei (non-action).
Dao Yin Ch’i Gung
Dao Yin Ch’i Gung principles personify non-being (wuji). Naturalness and relaxation,
singles of attention, and an integrated state, are the functions of this 2000 year
old Taoist system of health preservation exercise for balanced emotions, abundant
sources of energy, and superior health.
Taoist meditation
Taoist meditation and contemplation are the two expressions in the quest for spiritual
liberation and good fortune. Contemplation is the active principle of focused attention,
while meditation is the passive principle of insight and clarity. Taoist meditation
is a true vision quest toward wisdom and awakening.
In essence, T’ai Chi, Dao Yin Ch’i Gung, and meditation are the sword maker’s tools
for refining steel into an exquisite instrument for the disciplined expression of
mind, body, and spirit. It is fishing to feed oneself from the eternal well of the
Living Tao Center. This is referred to as the inner elixir.
Oriental Medicine
Oriental Medicine is a refined medical system which has been in use for more than
3000 years to diagnose and treat illness, prevent disease, and improve well-being.
Acupuncture through the insertion of an acupuncture needle and energy passed by
the Master Doctor stimulates the body to send signals for balance and healing. Chinese
Herbal Medicine is a highly evolved science, using medicinal herbs in formulations
to activate the body’s healing mechanisms, and negate harmful invading influences
thus achieving a level of health and well-being.
At the Living Tao Center complimentary modalities, such as infra-red heat therapy,
nutritional supplements, massage, acupressure, medical Ch’i Gung healing, sound
therapy, and radio frequency stimulation are all employed to ensure continued healing
and growth. Oriental Medicine considered the outer elixir for feeding and nurturing
a person back to wellness that they may continue their journey in their life’s choice
toward wholeness.
